May 18, 2006 From David: Sometimes things in life are out of our hands. This is definately the case with our store opening. The United States Customs Service is very protective of what enters the country; which most of the time is a good thing. In our case, it is not! All of the great merchandise from China is currently on a dock in Norfolk, Virginia awaiting inspection. Over the last month, we have been given several delivery dates, but as of yet, no merchandise. As in any business, some areas of operating a store need to be contracted well in advance. That was the case with the grand opening advertising, which invited your grand asian journey to begin on May 15. Unfortunately, with no merchandise, that can not happen. But we will open VERY SOON!!! Please be patient--it will be well worth your trip!
From Evans: I think even things in our lives are out of hands. What David and I have learned is that we just can't rely on everything on our own. Even though we were worrying about how our customers will react to coming to the store and being disappointed about not being able to shop right away, they have been very supportive. They have encouraged us not to stress out and that they will come back... All those great responses make David and myself very excited about working even harder to serve our customers. Thanks for all the support, and all your patience. I am sure once we are open, it's going to be a great party. Oh, not to mention our wonderful employees, Jennifer, Pam and Rachael, who stand by day after day to make sure they will be available once the shipment arrived. Guys, you are great!!!
