This place is really neat! We went because an ad in the paper said they had tea, and they do, but they have other interesting things, too. A wife and husband own the store, get all the merchandise from China, and they make a special effort to know the people that they get their merchandise from. There is a good selection of tea, tea sets, dolls, home decorations, and other art. They have informal tea ceremonies from 1-4pm on the fourth Saturday of the month. I bought a Pu-erh Tea Cake that came in a beautiful box and gift bag. I'm sure the tea will last me a year, but when it runs out, I'll be back for more.

This shop is definitely an oddity for the area, but a welcome one. They serve a huge variety of Asian gifts, and more importantly, a huge variety of teas, more varieties then I was even aware existed.

Included in this list are "Tea Cakes" that are aged and fermented like a fine wine, and sell for thirty five bucks a pop. Another item that caught my eye was the Jasmine Blossom and Golden Blossom Teas, which after being steeped, open into crazy little designs that are very striking to the eye. The whole place has a very Chinese influenced feel to it, and these Blossom Teas are definitely very "Zen" in appearance. I'm sure that the people who work there could tell you that there is some deep symbolism behind it, and perhaps there really is, but regardless it's interesting to watch.

I'd recommend this place to anyone who's interested in tea or Asian culture. It's definitely one of the most unique stores I've been in while living in Raleigh, full of an entire culture I wasn't familiar with.
